PAS128 Utility Survey
Job Information:
Our scope of work involved delivering a comprehensive PAS 128 M3(P) utility survey on a roundabout and dual carriageway in Leicestershire. This survey was essential for our client’s planning and design process, supporting the development of new cycleways and the resurfacing of the road network in the area.
To complete the survey, we deployed one of our specialized utility mapping teams, along with our state-of-the-art, vehicle-mounted ground-penetrating radar (GPR) system. This advanced technology enabled us to capture accurate subsurface data across the entire site. By using the vehicle-mounted GPR, we were able to conduct all survey work swiftly and efficiently without the need for traffic management measures, minimizing disruption and enhancing overall safety.
Our approach ensured that our client received a thorough and reliable utility map to support their project, paving the way for informed decision-making in the next phases of development.
Data:
- Data was collected on site through a combination of total station and survey grade GNSS receivers. The Vehicle mounted Stream UP has its own GNSS receiver, allowing the GPR swaths to be accurately tracked.
- 3D utility data and the GPR data thoroughly analysed and combined to create an accurate and legible drawing.
- Deliverables provided in 2D & 3D in both DWG and PDF format. A detailed survey report is also issued, explaining each utility asset within the survey area and any potential reasons to be cautious.
